Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

Bearly Fit is provided by Media Cake Limited, Henleaze Business Centre, 13 Harbury Rd, Henleaze, Bristol BS9 4PN, United Kingdom ("we", "us").

This policy is divided into two parts: the Bearly Fit app (iOS and Android) and the Bearly Fit website at bearly.fit. The two are described separately because they process data differently.

The Bearly Fit App

The app operates offline. Data you enter - including workouts, weight, body stats, nutrition, photos, custom exercises, and settings is stored locally on your device.

The app does not require an account and we do not operate servers that receive or store this data.

Removing the app from your device removes the data stored by the app.

Network requests made by the app

The app makes outbound network requests in the following cases:

  • Barcode scanning (Open Food Facts). When you scan a product barcode, the app sends the barcode number to Open Food Facts to retrieve nutrition information. Only the barcode number is transmitted. Open Food Facts is operated by a separate organisation and processes the request under its own privacy policy.
  • YouTube thumbnails. Where an exercise has linked video resources, the app loads thumbnail images from i.ytimg.com and img.youtube.com. When these images are loaded, YouTube may log the request. Videos are not auto-played; tapping a resource opens it in your device's browser or the YouTube app.

The app does not include analytics, crash reporting, telemetry, advertising identifiers, or third-party SDKs that transmit data.

Device backups

If iCloud Backup (iOS) or Google One / Auto Backup (Android) is enabled on your device, your operating system may include app data in your device backup. Those backups are managed by Apple or Google under their respective terms. We have no access to them.

Permissions

The app may request permissions such as camera access (for barcode scanning and progress photos), photo library access, or notifications. Permissions can be granted or revoked in your device settings. Photos taken within the app are stored on your device.

The Bearly Fit Website (bearly.fit)

The website provides marketing pages, a blog, and exercise and equipment reference material. It is a separate service from the app.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request metadata (IP address, user agent, country) at the edge in order to serve content, prevent abuse, and maintain availability.

Cookies

We do not set cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. The site may set a limited number of strictly necessary cookies (for example, to remember a UI preference). These are not shared with third parties.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or client-side identifiers and does not perform browser fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. The data we receive consists of aggregated page view counts and general geographic regions.

Third-party content loaded by the site

  • Google Fonts. Fonts are served from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. When your browser requests a font, Google may log the request, including your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
  • YouTube thumbnails. Certain exercise pages display thumbnail images served from i.ytimg.com and img.youtube.com and link to YouTube videos. When these images are loaded, YouTube may log the request. Videos are not auto-played.

Advertising and third-party tracking

The site does not run advertising, retargeting pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. The website does not include a user account system.

Server logs

Cloudflare retains short-term edge logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, response status) for security and abuse prevention purposes.

Children

Bearly Fit is not directed at children under 13. The app does not request personal information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

The app: data is stored on your device and is under your control. You can delete individual entries within the app, or remove all data by uninstalling the app.

The website: we do not maintain user accounts or personally identifiable records, so we typically do not hold personal data about visitors. If you have contacted us by email, you may request deletion of that correspondence.

If you are located in the UK or EEA, you have rights under the UK GDPR or GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data we hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the app or on the site.
